Armagh man accused of burglary at solicitor’s office and funeral home to face Crown Court

He was remanded in custody to appear at Newry Crown Court next month

A man accused of burglary of a solicitor’s office and a funeral home will face Crown Court proceedings next month.

Luke James Wall, 27, of no fixed abode, Armagh, appeared charged with burglary and burglary with intent to steal at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

As the charges were read, it was heard that on June 27, the defendant was accused of entering Donnelly solicitors on Downshire Road, Newry, and stealing around £310.

The next day, Wall is alleged to have trespassed into Heaney Keenen Funeral Home on Patrick Street, Newry, with the intention of stealing,

Standing in the dock, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence solicitor Gabriel Ingram made no contrary submissions.

The defendant was remanded in custody to appear at Newry Crown Court on April 28 for arraignment.
