A 56-year-old Armagh man has appeared in court charged with a series of explosives and firearms offences following his arrest in the city earlier on Tuesday.
Patrick McEnteggert, of Corrigan Court, Irish Street, was brought before District Judge Natasha Fitzsimons at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
He had been arrested at Corrigan Court on Tuesday.
He has been charged with a number of offences including making explosives under suspicious circumstances, possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances, possession of firearms or ammunition in suspicious circumstances and possession of firearms or ammunition without certificate.
Detective Constable Richard Davidson told the court he believed he could connect the defendant to all of the charges.
McEnteggert was represented by defence solicitor Jarlath Fields.
The hearing was brief, with no application for bail made on Wednesday due to the unavailability of a suitable address. Mr Fields asked for the case to be adjourned until next Tuesday to allow a bail application to be prepared.
Judge Fitzsimons remanded McEnteggert in custody to appear again next week.
