Detectives are appealing for information in relation to a silver BMW 3 Series car which they believe may have been used in a series of burglaries and attempted burglary across Armagh, Newry and County Monaghan over the past few days.
At around 5.25pm last night (Saturday) it was reported that three males in a silver BMW were disturbed while trying to break into a house in the Ashgrove Avenue area of Newry.
Between 1.30pm and 2pm on Friday, a home owner disturbed burglars at a house in the Killylea Road area of Armagh. A silver BMW was seen driving away from the scene and it is believed it may be linked to another burglary at a home in the Ballyrath Road area.
Detective Inspector Keith Galway said it was believed that a false registration place – TJZ 6053 – gad been fitted to the car.
“The original vehicle registration number is believed to be 09 D 30244 and the men in the car have southern accents,” he said.
He appealed to anyone who sees the vehicle or who has information about any of the incidents to contact police at Ardmore in Newry or Armagh PSNI Station using the 101 non-emergency number.
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
