More than 400 new homes are to be given planning approval for a massive site on the outskirts of the city, Armagh I can reveal.
Plans for the lands at Mullinure (pictured) were first submitted six years ago.
And they are due to be approved when the DoE Planning Service officials meet with Armagh City and District Council on Tuesday, May 6.
Four separate applications have been submitted, two in the name of Network Development Services and two in the name of Strategic Development Services Ltd.
The four applications are for the construction of a total of 428 new properties, over the course of six building phases.
The plans also include access, landscaping, open space and infrastructure approvals.
The first phase of the development is for an initial 63 houses. This would be followed by additional collective phases totalling a further 182 and 183 properties.
Elsewhere in the district, there is also a major housing development approval on the way for Laurelvale.
A total of 42 new homes – consisting of four detached and 38 demi-detached – has been successfully applied for by the Laurelvale Property Partnership.
The development would centre on lands adjacent to and north of Mullavilly Road and Main Street, Laurelvale.
