Fleet Officer required for Morgan McLernon based in Lurgan

At Morgan MeLernon we invest in a quality fleet to ensure that down-time is kept to a minimum:

– Large selection of fridges from Straights / Twin Evaporators / Meat Railers / Euro Railers / and split
– Multi-temp fridges to maximise flexibility for customers
– Satellite tracking and fleet management system installed in all trucks and trailers
– Over 20 Curtain Side Trailers to haul larger, heavier non temperature sensitive materials

We are currently recruiting for a: Fleet Officer

To ensure that all Morgan McLernon, Culina Group equipment is maintained in line with our undertakings contained in our Operators Licence. To comply with the requirements of the Culina Group standards of maintenance and best practice.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Vehicle Files – maintain the files to ensure that all information is correct, in sequence and in line with our legal obligations.

Driver Defects – utilise the Aquarius Clockwatcher system and VDC to improve our K.P.I.s

Defect Sign Off – use the Defect & Repair Sign Off Procedures to ensure a traceable audit of all defects.

Drivers – contact the driver to get clarification of the defect if required.

Breakdowns – contact repairing agents and keep the department & management team up to date with any breakdowns that may impact customers or availability of equipment.

Vehicle Services – liaise with service agents, operations teams and other depots to ensure that all company vehicles are serviced within the company and legal requirements.

PSVs – liaise with service agents, operations teams and other depots to ensure that all company vehicles are serviced within the company and legal requirements.

Gate exit checks – with drivers and vehicles.

General mechanic – use expertise to help diagnose and reduce costs to the department.

Key Tasks

– Yard Inspection – note trailers numbers, identify VORs and non-tracking trailers.
– Trailer Reconciliation – review the current status of trailers in Silverwood & update the report.
– P.M.I Locations – review tracker and identify locations where PMIs could be undertaken, send e-mails to repairing agents, team and Telford.
– VOR Report – Review VOR report from previous day and update with information from yard inspection. Send to Distribution list twice daily.
– Fridges on road being monitored – Review previous days report & e-mails send to Distribution list.
– PSV Report – Review monthly report and update with completed PSVs, sending chasing e-mail for non-compliance.
– Breakdowns – Deal with breakdowns, ensuring that the correct information is provided to service providers. Escalate any breakdowns that may impact customers or availability of equipment.
– Conference call – attend 15:00 Operational conference call when Fleet Manager is not available.
– On Call – Deal with out of hours breakdowns, ensuring that the correct information is provided to service providers. Escalate any breakdowns that may impact customers or availability of equipment.
– Vehicle files – review vehicle files and remove any documents that are over 15 months old. Files that are over 15 months old to be archived. File all new vehicle documentation.
– Vehicle PSVs – take prepared vehicles to PSV
– Service Providers – Take and uplift vehicles from service providers to ensure maximum availability of equipment.
– Service planners – update service planners using information provided by other members of the team.

– Ensure efficient use of materials, equipment and labour resources.

– Ensure efficient progression of work through the workshop.
– Good understanding of Transport Regulations.
– Attention to detail/accuracy.
– Computer Literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
– Ability to work as part of a team or as standalone.

– Strong and effective communicator at all levels.
– The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
– Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
