More than 160 food boxes delivered to elderly residents in community Christmas appeal

Community Christmas Appeal 2021 Jonathan Buckley

More than 160 food boxes were delivered to elderly residents in a community Christmas appeal organised by Upper Bann MLA Jonathan Buckley.

The DUP representative’s appeal focused on providing food boxes to elderly people in supported accommodation.

“As my 2021 Christmas Appeal draws to a conclusion I would like to sincerely thank everyone that has kindly contributed,” said Mr Buckley.

“The generosity shown by community groups, local businesses and the wider community has been truly overwhelming.

“This year’s appeal was aimed at addressing the rising costs of living, from groceries, heating and electricity.

“No one should have to choose between heating their homes or putting food on the table at Christmas time, and I have encountered many people through my office that are really appreciative of a little added help.

“This year I am proud to say that we were able to distribute over 160 food boxes to elderly residents in local Folds.

“Once again, I am extremely thankful of all of the help received – and it really goes to show the difference that can be made when the community works together.”
