Acknowledgement for the late Robert McCrum (Bessbrook)

McCrum, Robert.

The family of the late Robert McCrum would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who offered sympathy and support to them in their recent bereavement. Robert was a devoted husband to his late wife, Barbara, a much loved and treasured father to his children Karen (Danny), Alison (Jim), and Robert (Winnie). He was also adored by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert played an important role in so many lives and he is greatly missed.

Sincere thanks to all extended family members, friends, neighbours and former work colleagues who called at Robert’s home, 44 Maytown Road or attended the funeral service. All gifts, sympathy cards, letters, telephone calls and text messages were greatly appreciated. The family is also very thankful for the donations in lieu of flowers to Bessbrook Presbyterian Church.

A special thanks is due to Dr Ellen McKernan and the entire medical team, past and present, in Bessbrook Surgery for the utmost care and respect shown to Robert over many years. Thanks is expressed to the Acute Home Care Team who treated Robert in his home, prior to his admission to hospital. Thanks must also be given to the Paramedic Team, the staff of the A&E Department and Female Medical Ward who provided much urgent care and attention.

The family would like to express particular thanks to Rev. Keith McIntyre for conducting the Service of Thanksgiving and for the pastoral care and ministry to Robert and his family over many years. The family is also grateful to Mr. Stephen Furphy for providing music at the funeral service and to Mrs. Aisling Neill and Mrs. Katherine Park for their lovely duet.

Thanks too to ‘Simply Good Catering’ for the refreshments which were prepared and served to all those who attended the funeral.

Finally, the family is indebted to George Preston Funeral Directors for their advice and compassion at such a difficult time. The funeral arrangements were arranged in the most dignified and professional manner.

‘With Christ which is far better.’ Philippians 1 v 23.
