Acknowledgement for the late Patsy McCooey (Keady)

McCooey, Patsy.

The family of the late Patsy McCooey wish to have this acknowledgement posted in gratitude and thanks. Patsy’s sisters and brother would like to thank all those who sympathised with them during their very sad bereavement of a much loved brother, uncle and friend to many people both in Manchester and his hometown of Keady.

We thank especially his many friends in England for their support to Patsy throughout his years there and for their kind messages of support to us.

To all those who visited the wake house to offer their condolences in person, sent mass /sympathy cards, brought gifts of food or who helped in any way.

We are particularly grateful to the medical and nursing staff of the Oriel Ward of The Royal Infirmary Hospital who cared for Patsy on his end of life journey. We express our appreciation to The Greater Manchester Police services and Norah in the Coroners service for the constant updates and guidance throughout a very difficult ordeal for our family.

Gratitude is extended to the KBRT who assisted in the repatriation back to Keady.

No words seem adequate to thank the priests of Keady parish and especially Rev Fr Sean ONeill for his prayerful presence and to Rev Fr Aidan McCann who celebrated a very beautiful and personal funeral mass. Thanks goes also to Fr Sean Moore for his assistance in the burial service.

Thanks to Eilis and Colleen for the wonderful music which enhanced the mass and to the sacristan for preparing the church. Massive appreciation to our wonderful family, friends and kind neighbours for all your help and support.

To Bridget and team from Mone Funeral Directors for the complete and professional handling of all the funeral arrangements and to Mary B Mone and staff for the post burial refreshments and Keady parish for the use of the hall to host it. We thank also Richard Dickson for digging the grave in such a meticulous way.

At the risk of failing to mention someone we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a sincere token of our appreciation.

Patsy’s month mind mass will be held in St Patrick’s Church Keady on Monday August 19, at 7pm.
