Acknowledgement for the late Patrick McGahan (Tullysaran)

McGahan, Patrick (Patsy).

We the sisters of the late Patsy McGahan RIP wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who sympathised and supported us during the recent sad bereavement of our brother.

To our wonderful family, friends, and neighbours who left food, helped set up the wake, sent messages of support, mass, sympathy cards and who kept us in their prayers.

We would like to send our deep appreciation to the staff of Collegeland Nursing Home who cared for Patsy so diligently and compassionately over the last seven years. Your kindness will be forever in our hearts.

To the carers and the Maire Curie nurses who cared for Patsy at home during the early years of his illness we thank you.

To the doctors and especially Dr McConville, nurses and district nurses in Moy Health Centre who attended Patsy over the years, we appreciated your compassion.

A special word of thanks to Fr Peter McAnenely who provided spiritual guidance and solace to Patsy over the years, to Cardinal Brady who attended the wake and led prayers in the house and to Fr Barry Matthews who celebrated Patsy’s funeral mass and offered words of comfort to the family we wish to acknowledge our appreciation.

Sincere appreciation to Catherine Grimley Hughes and Joanna Doran for their beautiful singing and musical pieces which enhanced the mass so beautifully and to the Eucharistic Ministers who participated in the mass.

We wish to express our thanks to the sacristan Gerald Conlon who prepared the chapel and the gravedigger Andrew Stevenson who so carefully and meticulously prepared Patsy’s final resting place.

Thank you to Cordellia’s who kindly brought food in the evening and to Aine Pearson who provided refreshments in the Community Centre afterwards.

Finally, to Damian Smith Undertaker who provided our family with compassion and professionalism throughout this time.

We are mindful we may have missed out some people but rest assured we appreciated everything and everyone who helped us and continue to support us as a family.

The Holy sacrifice will be offered for all your intentions.

“May Patsy rest in eternal peace.”
