Acknowledgement for the late May Thornton (Cookstown)

Thornton (née Doherty), May. We, the family of the late May Thornton, who passed away in Antrim Area Hospital on 15th February, 2022, wish to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all the kind relatives, friends and neighbours, who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family, and to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.

Thank you to all who attended the wake and funeral, especially those who travelled long distances.

Thank you to all who helped in the house, brought food, Mass and Sympathy cards, along with their heartfelt condolences. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way.

Thank you to all who were present along the funeral route, attended the Requiem Mass, or joined with us via the webcam.

Special thanks to Fr. Lawrence Boyle, PP, for his spiritual homily to May and also for the beautiful funeral Mass, and also to Fr. Brian Slater for visiting the home. Thanks to Patrick Slevin and Margaret-Ann Conlon for the beautiful music.

Thanks to the sacristan in Holy Trinity Church and also the gravediggers at Ardmore Cemetery and Fr. McCrory, who said the final prayers at May’s graveside.

Thanks to the Doctors and staff at Mid Ulster Health Care, Cookstown for their attention to May’s medical needs.

To Niall A. Loughran, Funeral Directors, for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

May’s months mind Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday March 15, at 10.00am in Holy Trinity Church, Cookstown.
