The family of the late Joe Shortt have requested this acknowledgement is posted in appreciation and gratitude.
Joe’s son Jody, partner Eileen, brother Paddy and the entire family circle wish to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those who sympathised with them during their sad bereavement.
To all our wonderful family, friends and kind neighbours whose help was invaluable over the wake and funeral. To all those who attended the wake, funeral and cremation service, brought mass cards, telephoned, messaged or posted online their expressions of sympathy we are most grateful.
We thank also the many individuals and businesses who brought gifts of food to the wake house and to all the ladies who served the tea. We thank all the men who provides parking assistance and for putting up the marquee as well as the general clean up before the wake.
We thank the emergency services who attended Joe and to Emma Jayne McKernan who provided much needed assistance before their arrival.
Joe’s love of all sports especially Road Bowls, Snooker, Handball, Hurling was evidenced by the very many people who attended and shared their stories and we thank you all for the lovely tributes, guards of honour and general support.
Ultimately we thank the priests of the parish for their pastoral care and especially to Fr Aidan McCann who officiated at a very personal and fitting requiem mass and burial.
Allied to that sincere appreciation to Julie Ann and Stephen McSorley for the beautiful music which greatly enhanced the funeral mass with support from Maura and Sheila.
Finally to Bridget Mone of Mone funeral Directors for the complete compassionate and professional handling of all the funeral arrangements. At the risk of failing to mention someone we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a sincere token of our appreciation.
Joe’s month mind mass will be held in St Patrick’s Church Keady on Monday, August 14 @7pm (Novena mass).
