Armagh I death notice

Tighe, Joan.

Bidding Prayers from Joan’s Requiem Mass:

We thank you God for all the health professionals who’ve looked after Joan throughout her life. Hospital nurses and doctors. Pioneering surgeons. Carers. Nursing-home staff. They all work so hard and conscientiously. We pray that they get the support they need too.

We thank you God for friendship. Joan had many, many devoted friends in her life. Wonderful, kind people she’d known for decades, and new ones who took her to their hearts. We pray that we treat our friends with care, respect and gentleness.

We thank you God for family, in all its different shapes and sizes, nearby and far away. If we know what unconditional love is, even when there are miles between us or the years have gone by, we pray that we truly recognise it, appreciate it and return it in kind.

We thank you God for natural beauty and simple, uncomplicated things. Joan loved nature and drew strength from it. She loved flowers and fresh sea-air. We pray that our beautiful world is protected and respected.

Joan Tighe’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 3, at 10.00am at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Armagh. All are welcome.
