Acknowledgement for the late Fiachra O’Faoláin (The Brantry)

Fiachra Ó Faoláin

O’Faoláin, Fiachra.

The family of the late Fiachra O’Faoláin , who passed away June 2, 2024, would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who supported and sympathised with us on the death of our son and brother.

To those who sent cards and messages of condolences and those who travelled the length and breadth of Ireland and further afield to attend the wake and funeral or visited us since. Thanks also to everyone who kindly donated to the Tyrone underwater search and recovery. Thank you for your prayers and kindness during this sad time.

We can never thank Dean Kevin Donaghy who said the funeral Mass and spoke so beautifully about Fiachra’s life enough. The pastoral care he provided to us all over this difficult time was unfathomable. Thanks also to Fr Cathal Deveney and Fr Brendan McCall for assisting with the funeral mass and for their ongoing pastoral support which has also been superb.

Thanks to Malachi Cush, Meg and Diane Daly, Pat Casey, Damien Donnelly and Rory Madden for the beautiful music at Fiachra’s funeral Mass. You brought us immense comfort.

Thanks to Quinn Funeral Directors, and especially Paudge for the dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and for his compassion, kindness and support during our most difficult time.

Thank you to all the local businesses and individuals who kindly brought food and refreshments for the wake and thank you to the staff of Quinns Corner for the beautiful food served after the funeral.

Thanks to everyone who helped with car parking and stewarding at the wake and funeral, especially both Achadh Lú GFC and our friends from Eoghain Ruadh Hurling club.

Thanks to the gravedigger who prepared Fiachra’s final resting place, Mac AV Video, Eamonn McCullagh for the amplification, KC Marquees and all who took part in guards of honour.

It is impossible to thank everyone individually. We hope you will accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartful thanks.

We were greatly humbled by the outpouring of grief and support from all who knew Fiachra as well as the wider community but a special mention must be made to our family and close friends for their tireless work and immeasurable support.

Fiachra’s Month’s Mind Mass will be held in St Joseph’s, Caledon on Monday July 8, at 7.30pm.
