Acknowledgement for the late Celia McQuade (Keady)

McQuade, Celia. (Keady). Colum, sons Martin and Joe, daughters Brenda and Fiona and the entire family circle wish to thank all those who sympathised with them during their recent bereavement. To all our wonderful family, friends and kind neighbours whose help and support was invaluable over the wake and funeral and indeed throughout Celia’s life and illness.

Thank you to all the many people who attended the wake and funeral, brought mass and sympathy cards, telephoned messaged or posted online their expressions of sympathy we assure you these were all greatly appreciated. Thanks also to the many individuals and businesses who brought gifts of food and floral tributes to the house. We thank all the ladies who made and served tea and to the men who erected the marquee.

Special thanks to all those who cared for Celia at home and in hospital throughout her illness. First to her GP and the staff of Willowbank Surgery, the Keady District Nursing team and to the Acute Care at home team. We valued the input from the Macmillan team and Oncology team

Gratitude to the priests of the parish and especially to Fr Peter McAnenly for his pastoral care of Celia and for celebrating a beautiful and fitting funeral mass. Thanks also to the sacristons for preparing the church and to Jolene, Robert and Patricia for the wonderful music which enhanced the celebration of the mass.

We must also make reference to other groups of people whose support was amazing, first Kevin Ann, KP and Shauna of Mones Hardware and Gift shop and to their amazing staff where Celia worked and made many friends over 21 years, secondly to St Patrick’s Camogie Club Keady and St Mary’s Camogie Club Granemore who provided a very emotional guard of honour for their former member underage coach and massive advocate of the club.

We thank also Phillipa and staff of the Rolling Pin for the beautiful post burial refreshments and to the parish for the use of the hall.

Finally to Bridget Mone and team from Mone Funeral Directors for their professional, sensitive and dignified handling of all the funeral arrangements.

At the risk of failing to mention someone we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a sincere token of our appreciation.

Celia’s month mind mass will be held in St Patrick’s Church Keady on Sunday June 11, at 11:30
