Plans for a new two-storey restaurant in Portadown town centre have been recommended for approval.
The development would see the former Evans clothes store on Market Street refurbished and fitted to accommodate a 100-plus seated restaurant.
The premises is located in a prominent position on the town’s main thoroughfare, next to the Carphone Warehouse Store.
Previously, Armagh I had reported how the application was for a 60-seater restaurant but plans have been revised for an even bigger offering.
It would be the latest investment in culinary enterprise within the town centre, with the opening of Bob & Berts and Greggs in recent months.
However, there has been no indication as to who will operate the new premises when it does open its doors.
The final decision will lie with councillors when they meet for the monthly meeting in the coming weeks.
