Participants sought for Southern Hospice’s ‘Strictly Goes Country’

Southern Area Hospice Services are calling on local men and women to come forward to take part in their exciting new fundraising event, ‘Strictly Goes Country’.

‘Strictly Goes Country’ will take place in the Armagh City Hotel on Saturday, June 27 and it will see 10 couples take to the stage to showcase their dance moves to Country Music to help raise vital funds for Southern Area Hospice Services.

‘Strictly Goes Country’, which will follow a similar format to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, will see the participating couples jiving, line-dancing and doing the huckle-buck amongst many more dances to impress the judging panel and the audience in order to win their votes and ultimately win the show on the night.

A great night is guaranteed so make sure you don’t miss your chance to get involved.

No previous dancing experience is necessary. Full training will be provided by fully certified dance teacher, Marty O’Connor of ‘Get Fit, Come Dancing’ who is proudly supporting the event.

Participants don’t need to have a partner to sign up as the couples will be randomly selected when all the dancers have been recruited.

Anne Mac Oscar, Regional Marketing Officer for Southern Area Hospice Services encouraged people to come forward saying, “I would encourage people to sign up as this is sure to  be a fantastic experience for all our dancers – not only will they get the chance to learn new skills and meet new people, they will also be raising vital funds for Southern Area Hospice Services. “

Anne continued, “Southern Area Hospice Services is a local charity which provides care free of charge to people who are living with Cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease. To help us to continue to provide the level of care currently available, the Hospice fundraising department has to raise £2.38 million in 2015 alone. Events such as ‘Strictly Goes Country’ are very important as we work towards this target and I would encourage as many people as possible to support it.”

If you would like to volunteer to take part in the show or if you would like to reserve tickets for the night (£12 each) please contact Anne Mac Oscar in the Southern Area Hospice fundraising department on 028 30251333 or email macoscara@southernareahospiceservices.org.
