Visual Artist Nathan Nesbitt presents ‘Smoke in Motion’ at Armagh’s Market Place Gallery.
This truly innovative exhibition is an exploration of the unique surrealist technique fumage – the art of drawing with smoke.
Utilising an open flame to deposit trails of black smoke on paper Nesbitt sculpts the plumes to capture the delicate, passionate motion of his subject.
The use of a destructive force as a tool for creation encompasses the disparity of humanities and earths volatile nature which is a constant element present in all Nesbitt’s creations.
This exhibition opens on Friday, June 7 and runs to Saturday, July 13 at The Market Place Theatre & Arts Centre. Admission is free.
