‘On Your Doorstep’ is a very special opportunity to catch a full symphony orchestra in the intimate surroundings of The Market Place Theatre in Armagh.
It’s hard to truly capture the power and effect of live orchestral music until you attend a show in person, and this programme strives to bring the Ulster Orchestra’s passion and magic to local audiences.
With world-class soloists, guest conductors and, of course, the full 54-piece orchestra, there’s no better time to give the Orchestra a go – you may find that you know more classical music than you think!
Following November’s concert in The Market Place, the Ulster Orchestra return with Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto on Thursday 21 February. Tickets are priced £17.50, £15 [conc] and £5 [under 18’s].
On Saturday 16 February, Prime Cut Productions return with a double-bill of drama which explores the complexities of male mental health in contrasting performative styles.
‘East Belfast Boy’ by Fintan Brady is a real rollercoaster ride and a cliché-free zone, with pumping techno, pulverising movement and street sharp poetry.
Second on the bill; ‘Every Day I Wake Up Hopeful’ by John Patrick Higgins, tells the story of Malachy. He has made a decision, perhaps for the first time in his life.
Tonight is the night. He has six bottles of wine, a bucket of chicken and he wants to talk about it. He really wants to talk about it. Poignant and confessional, it is also desperately funny. Tickets are priced £13.50 and £11.50 [conc].
