Killylea fundraising family to host new Christmas Musical Extravaganza!

Two years ago Killylea said a sad farewell to a Santa’s Cottage Christmas event run annually for charity by the village’s famously generous, Bloomer family.

When they called 2023 the final year of the family-focused meet and greet with the big man himself, they promised it wouldn’t be the end of their fundraising.

And, staying true to their word… the family have organised a Christmas Musical Extravaganza to help ring in the festive cheer – and a few pounds for their constant charity partner, Air Ambulance NI and St Mark’s Church Funds.

Speaking to Armagh I, Joanne Hale (nee Bloomer) explained the line up: “We have Killylea Silver Band, Markethill Pipe Band, Killylea Junior Orange Girls Choir, Cormeen Flute Band, County Armagh Drum Majors coming.

“We also have Amy Eakin singing, Sharon Whitcroft and Paul Elliott.

They have planned for the seated event to kick off at Killylea Church Hall on December 4, lasting from 7.30pm to 10pm.

There will be a raffle on the evening and tuck shop with ice cream!

Tickets are priced at £8 per adult and £4 per child, with all proceeds from ticket sales, tuck shop and raffle to go to Air Ambulance NI and St Mark’s Church Funds.

Since the family began their fundraising efforts they have now raised over £30,000 for the Air Ambulance charity in total, through tractor runs, Christmas events and various other activities.

This year, Joanne says they would like to make at least £1000 for the charities from the Musical Extravaganza.

Tickets are limited. They can be purchased directly from the family or from Oliver’s Shop in Killylea.

You can find out more information and make contact with Joanne via the Facebook event page here.
