Dogs to take ‘lead’ role in St Patrick’s Festival

Dog owners in Armagh are being encouraged t0 come along and join a costume-making workshop so their pooch can feature as part of the St Patrick’s Festival 2014.
This workshop, from 12noon to 2.30pm, takes place at the Market Place Theatre in Armagh on Saturday, January 25. It is free to attend but pre-booking is requested.
All materials will be supplied by Armagh City and District Council as part of its St Patrick’s Festival 2014.
Dogs and their owners will then go ‘walkies’ with the rest of the parade participants on St Patrick’s Day, Monday, March 17,  from 11.45am.
This workshop is just one small part of Armagh City and District Council’s St Patrick’s Festival 2014.
Other events include café music sessions, panel discussions, a busking festival, a free open air concert, workshops in making costumes and learning circus skills.
The St Patrick’s Day event will start from the Palace. Workshops are led by professional tutors..
Organisers ask that owners be responsible for ensuring their dog’s best behaviour at St Patrick’s Day and should therefore take into consideration whether your dog is happy to be around other dogs, children, crowds and bands.
To book or for further information on this and the other events, contact Majella Flanagan – Majella.flanagan@marketplacearmagh.com, 028 375 1820.
