It was famously said that a week is a long time in politics, but it seems that a lot more can be accomplished in the same timeframe in the world of showbiz!
Just six days ago Armagh I reported that the Armagh-shot ‘Frankenstein Chronicles’ would not be broadcast until 2016 at the earliest.
And that came straight from the horse’s mouth – or ITV if you’d prefer!
The broadcaster confirmed to Armagh I that the show was in post-production and, with such a global appeal, there appeared to be no mad rush in order to ensure the best results.
Indeed, we were told: “We have no transmission date presently but that isn’t unusual when a drama is in post-production. The edit and grading process takes some months.”
So imagine our surprise this evening when ITV drops us off another email to put a smile firmly on our – and hopefully your own – faces!
It seems that the six-parter – helmed by Hollywood star Sean Bean – will now go out within months!
Great news!
“The series has now been scheduled for late autumn 2015,” an ITV spokesperson informs Armagh I.
The drama was shot earlier this year at local locations which included Russell Street, Vicar’s Hill, Armagh Courthouse, Armagh Gaol and Gosford Forest Park.
We are just delighted that we are getting closer to broadcast.
And, given that it’s described as a reimagining of Mary Shelley’s gothic horror novel, it seems perfectly timed for transmission as the darker nights draw in!
