Mullaghbawn’s best books semi-final place

Mullaghbawn 0-09 Clan na Gael 0-07

MULLAGHBAWN travelled to Pearse Óg Park and produced what was arguably their best performance of the year to date and defeated Clan na Gael by two points in the Quarter-Final of the Intermediate Championship.

Clans opened the scoring early in the game and quickly doubled their lead before Aidan McVerry opened Mullaghbawn’s scoring account with a sweet kick off his right boot. Mullaghbawn then seized control of the game and three long range scores from Eugene McVerry and a brace from Eddie English extended their lead to four points.

Clans recorded that last score of the half to leave it six points to three in favour of Mullaghbawn at the break.

The second half started with Clans enjoying their best period of the game and within the first five minutes they had levelled things up.

Both teams then exchanged scores to leave the game nicely poised midway through the second half.

However, Mullaghbawn were not to be denied and with two points from Ciaran Grant and Eddie English, coupled with their outstanding defensive work, they held out to complete what was an outstanding victory.  The boys exemplified great team work ahead of their upcoming Semi-Final.
