It’s certainly too early to get carried away but Armagh took another small step towards regaining Division One status with a brilliant attacking performance to see off Meath at the Box-IT Athletic Grounds on Saturday night.

While Armagh were never likely to fall victim to the Tailteann Cup trap door, four points from four, also leaves Kieran McGeeney’s men one win (albeit not mathematically) away from securing Sam Maguire status later this summer.

Goals either side of the interval swung this tie in Armagh’s favour. Cian McConville and Ciaran mackin obliging.

For Armagh, it’s Kildare away on Sunday week and an opportunity for McGeeney to inflict further damage on his former side who have yet to pick up any points.

Final score: Armagh 2-16 Meath 0-10
