Armagh could be reinstated in this year’s All-Ireland championship after it emerged Laois used more substitutes than their allocated six.
The Irish Independent have reported that the Leinster side used seven subs in their Round 1A qualifier win over Armagh at Portlaois on Saturday.
Kieran McGeeney’s men lost the game on a scoreline of 0-10 to 1-10.
However, Laois could be stripped of the win by GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee after introducing their final sub three minutes into injury time.
They are set to play Clare in Round 2A in a fortnight’s time.
It seems, according to 6.44 of the rule book. expulsion, replay and fine are all options if Laois are viewed to have put on too many subs.
