Sands, Sr Mary Maoil Iosa, July 25 2021, (peacefully) at St Joseph’s Nursing Home, Warrenpoint, late of Convent of Mercy, Edward Street, Lurgan. Daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Elizabeth Sands, Annaghbane, Donaghmore, Newry and much loved sister of May (Byrne), Bridie (Conlon), Kathleen (McGrath), John, Peter, Francis, Kieran and the late Madge (Daly), Seamus, Hugh, George and Gerald. Sr Mary Maoil Iosa’s remains will be reposing in the Convent of Mercy, Catherine Street Newry.
Sadly, due to current government restrictions, the Convent will remain private. Requiem Mass for Sr Mary Maoil Iosa will be celebrated in St John’s Church, Glenn, at 12 noon on Tuesday July 27, followed by burial at St Mary’s Cemetery, Barr. The Mass can be viewed HERE
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by the Sisters of Mercy, Northern Province, her sisters and brothers and all her family circle.
