World War One sensory experience at Lurgan Show

Mark Saturday, June 6 in your diary as the date you will be transported back in time to the WWI era!

Lurgan Park is the venue for this immersive event, where you will be given the full WWI sensory experience, with music from the period played by a brass band, while you dress up in WWI period clothing and props. lurgan show 1

There will also be a small WWI display, and chef Jenny Turley will delight the taste buds with WWI themed treats such as ‘trench pudding’ between 1pm and 4pm.

The Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council event is part of Craigavon Museum Service’s ‘Living with WWI’ project, funded by Heritage Lottery Fund NI.

Over the coming months, the ‘Living with WWI’ project will tour its ‘Taking Liberties – The Women’s Right to Vote’ exhibition, chronicling the suffragette movement, with an emphasis on the local area. Look out for this exhibition in your local community/town hall and libraries until March 2016.
