POLICE have issued a public appeal for help to catch a thug who punched a woman in the head and then stamped on her as she fell to the ground after answering a knock at her door.
The 31-year-old woman opened the door of her home in Mourne Road, Lurgan, last Wednesday at 9.40pm and when the man – a complete stranger – asked where she was from, he assaulted her.
She was injured in her face and teeth.
The man, who police said was not known to the woman, is described as being around 30 years old, 5ft 7in tall, of medium build and was wearing a black, long sleeved jumper, blue jeans and white trainers with blue stripes.
His teeth were yellow with one of his front teeth noticeably larger than the other.
Police have appealed for information.
