Two men pronounced dead at scene of two vehicle Carrickmacross collision

Two men died following a two vehicle crash in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, at around 11am this morning (Friday).

The road traffic collision happened on the N2 at Carrickmacross and the two men, one in his 60s and the others in his 50s, were the drivers and sole occupants of the cars which collided.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai are investigating and have appealed for witnesses to this collision to contact Carrickmacross Garda Station on 042 9690190, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

It is the second fatal accident in Co Monaghan in less than 48 hours.

A motorcyclist died after he was involved in a collision with an SUV on the N2 at Broomfield, Castleblaney, at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, July 9.
