TWO men were arrested after an attempt was made to steal fuel from a church late last night (Sunday), say the PSNI.
Police received a report of two men trying to steal fuel, a vehicle and trailer from the rear of a church on Moss Bank Road in Craigavon.
The incident happened at around 11pm and, when officers attended, the men made off on foot.
But a Nissan Terrano vehicle, with a horse box attached, was found close to the scene. The horse box contained a quantity of fuel and the Nissan Terrano had been reported as stolen from the Edenderry Road area of Scarva.
Police detained two men a short time later a few miles away from the scene and they were arrested on suspicion of theft, criminal damage and driving offences.
The two, aged 18 and 21, are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
