Traffic restrictions detailed for annual Last Saturday Demonstration

Police in Armagh are warning motorists of traffic restrictions during the Royal Black Preceptory Parade in Armagh City this Saturday, August 30.

Thousands are expected in the city for the Last Saturday demonstration, which traditionally marks the end of the marching season.

The parade will begin at 12pm until 5pm, with traffic restrictions in place for a longer period of time

College Hill and Mall East will be closed to traffic coming from Portadown direction and motorists will be diverted along Mullinure Lane/Loughgall Road from 12pm – 3pm.

Mall East will be closed to traffic with resident access only. Motorists travelling through the area should expect some disruption and allow a longer time for their journey.

Motorists are also asked to exercise caution and be attentive to a large number of participants and spectators in the area.

Parade route: College Hill – College Street – Market Street – Scotch Street – Barrack Street – Victoria Street – Drumadd Road – Hamiltonsbawn Road (Demonstration field) Majority of the disruption will be in and around College Hill/Mall East and Hamiltonsbawn Road.

Diversion signs will be in place.
