Tradesman out of work and out of pocket after ladders theft

A tradesman has been left high and dry after the theft of working materials from his van.

The contractor’s van was broken into at Armagh Road, Newry, on Friday.

Local SF MLA Mickey Brady has slammed those responsible.

“A number of work ladders used for external painting work were removed from the roof of a work van which was parked in the Armagh Road area,” he explained.

“This selfish theft has resulted in this tradesman being unable to undertake work due to the fact that most of his painting work is outside.

“In the run-up to Christmas this cowardly crime has left this self-employed man out of pocket and out of work. Anyone with any information should pass this on as soon as possible so that these anti-community elements can be dealt with by the courts.”
