Three men are being questioned tonight after an attempt was made to steal a handbag from a pensioner at the Spires Retail Park earlier today (Wednesday).
The incident happened at about 4pm and police are appealing for witnesses.
They say two men approached an elderly lady in the vicinity of the Spires, off the Moy Road.
They tried to snatch her handbag from the front of her vehicle.
Fortunately, the elderly lady was not injured but was left shaken by her ordeal.
As a result of information provided by a member of the public, three males were later arrested in relation to the incident and are tonight assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are asking anyone with any information regarding the incident to contact the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference: 809 01/04/15.
