ELECTRIC cattle fencing and batteries are being snatched from fields in the Tullyglush area.
It is understood that as many as 10 farmers have reported such thefts in recent days.
All the incidents have happened over a relatively small geographical area, which stretches from Tullyglush over to the Clay Road, with the Tullynawood Road being one of the worst hit areas, according to a local councillor.
“I would like to urge farmers to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity they might see,” said Sinn Fein’s Darren McNally. “It is extremely difficult to secure items such as electric fencing but any additional security measures that farmers can take would be a good start.”
