Thieves siphon off 500 litres of heating oil from house

Five hundred litres of home heating oil have been stolen from a house in the Banbridge area.

And police are appealing for information on a blue transit van seen in the area at the time.

The theft happened at around 9.30pm on Saturday, August 1, in the Aughadery Road area.

Constable Michael Brannigan said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact police at Banbridge on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Police would also be keen to hear from the driver of the blue transit van as they may be able to help them with their enquiries.”
