Teen found in car park after assault

POLICE in Lurgan have issued an appeal for witnesses to a serious assault on a teenager in the town at the weekend.

The incident happened at William Street shortly after 8.20pm on Saturday, January 26.

A 17-year-old was found in a local car park with a facial injury, and it  is believed he had been assaulted by two men, one of whom was possibly armed with a screwdriver. The youth was taken to hospital for treatment.

One of the attackers was described as approximately 20-years-old, around six feet tall, of stocky build and wearing a red top. The second was described as approximately 18-years-old, around six feet tall, of thin build and wearing dark clothing.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man a short time later, who has since been released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
