Woman left badly shaken after disturbing burglar in Poyntzpass

The incident happened around 6pm on Wednesday

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at a house in the Tullymore Road area of Poyntzpass.

It was reported that at approximately 6pm on Wednesday, June 7, a male, described a wearing a green jacket and beige cap, gained entry to a property on the Tullymore Road, Poyntzpass.

The female occupant in the house then disturbed the burglar who made off on foot.

She was left badly shaken as a result of the incident.

Detective Constable Foley said: “We are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time or to anyone who may have witnessed a black Corsa in the area, shortly before 6pm that may be able to assist with enquiries to contact detectives at Lurgan Reactive and Organised Crime Branch on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1072 of the 07/06/17.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
