A cold caller who was offering up gardening services in Tandragee on Wednesday “couldn’t get off the phone quickly enough”.

The suspicious red Toyota van was calling at homes in the town throughout the day yesterday offering gardening and power washing services.

Police are warning homeowners and businesses to be vigilant and wary of this vehicle.

Officers say the man left calling cards that “look quite professional” but added “when police phoned the number on the business card he couldn’t get off the phone quickly enough. One to be on the lookout for.”

Just last weekend police were asking the public to report incidents of cold callers offering services.

A white Transit van was calling at homes in the Tandragee and Scarva areas on Saturday.

Police say the van had a southern registration.

And a spokesperson asked the public to “report any similar incidents”.

These can be relayed to the PSNI in Armagh on the non-emergency number 101.
