Plans for 14 new houses in Whitecross have been given the green light by Council planners.
The proposal to build the homes – eight semi-detached and six detached – adjacent to 65 Ballymoyer Road has been recommended for approval by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
Councillors on the planning committee will still have to rubber-stamp the decision when they meet later this month.
The application was submitted by Casey Developments and comprises of plans to build the dwellings on an agricultural field located within the settlement limit of Ballymoyer.
The site is adjoined by an agricultural field to the west and south with No 65 Ballymoyer adjoining the site to the east and dwellings within Rathmore Gardens north of the site.
It is anticipated that, should the planning committee give the thumbs up, work will begin later in the summer.
