A man is to appear in court following the attempted robbery of a shop in Newtownhamilton back in February.
Detectives have charged the 29-year-old with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon with intent.
The charges relate to an attempted robbery at commercial premises in Dundalk Street on Friday, February 7.
The accused is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on April 16.
As is usual procedure, the charges will reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
It was reported at the time that a masked man armed with a knife approached a kiosk inside the premises and passed a note to a member of staff with a demand that they hand over money.
The staff member instead pressed a panic alarm and the male then fled the scene empty handed.
