Arrest warrant issued for south Armagh man in court no-show

Newry Courthouse

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Co. Armagh man accused of driving whilst disqualified after he failed to appear at court.

Prosecution stated that the case involving the 31-year-old was to be subject to Crown Court proceedings due to his “extensive record”.

Finbar Stephen Maguire, 31, of McGraths Terrace in Whitecross, did not appear as he was charged with using a motor vehicle with insurance and driving whilst disqualified at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Defence solicitor Gerald Trainor informed the court of his clients non-attendance.

Prosecution stated: “This had been listed for a preliminary enquiry and this was to be sent to the Crown Court due to the extent of this defendant’s record”.

Security staff confirmed that Maguire’s name had been called in the court precincts to no reply.

An arrest warrant was issued for the defendant.
