Six people – including two teenage boys – have been charged with a number of public order offences following disorder at the annual Sham Fight celebrations in the village yesterday (Tuesday).
Police have confirmed the charges this afternoon.
It was reported yesterday that two police officers had been injured and received medical treatment at the scene as a result of scuffles.
Four men – aged 19, 21, 22 and 23 – will appear at Banbridge Magistrates’ Court sitting at Newry on Thursday, August 6.
And two youths – aged 15 and 16 – will appear at Banbridge Youth Court, also sitting at Newry, next Monday, July 20.
As is normal procedure the charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
