Renewed appeal on fatal cycle accident

POLICE have reissued an appeal for information following the death of a pensioner in an accident in Portadown last Thursday, November 1.

Seventy-five-year-old Sam Sloan died after his bicycle was involved in  a collision on the Mahon Road.

The crash – which happened at around 1.40pm – also involved a red Vauxhall Corsa and a green Land Rover Discovery.

Mr Sloan – a father of one – died at the scene from his injuries. A female motorist was treated at the scene for shock.

This afternoon (Tuesday), police again appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information on it, to come forward. They can be contacted at Portadown on 0845 600 8000.
