PSNI police

A woman suffered a broken nose in a violent late-night assault last weekend.

Police are investigating some “not-so-festive cheer”.

Police are appealing for information following the incident in the early hours of last Sunday morning.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “At just after 2.30am on Sunday morning, on West Street Portadown, a female was assaulted by a male and pushed to the ground.

“As a result she has a broken nose.”

They added: “Violence has no place in society, especially unprovoked and at this time of year! If you were in the area at the time and witnessed this incident, please give us a call. The incident number is 268 of 17/12/17.

“The suspect is described as a white male, around 5’6”, balding, thin build, wearing jeans.

“If you don’t want to speak to us directly, you can speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
