Tributes have been paid following the sudden passing of a young man from Portadown at the weekend.
Matthew Hanna, of The Avenue, died suddenly on Saturday (August 19).
He was the cherished son of Paul and Janet, the loving brother of Timothy, the devoted grandson of Gordon and Jean and the nephew of Carole.
Following the news of Matthew’s passing there has been an outpouring of tributes from many who knew and loved him.
One person said: “Matty you were so sweet and so nice always so lovely to me in school. Absolute legend on the guitar. Can’t imagine what the family are going through. Thinking of you all at such a sad time. Rest easy bud. I hope you’re at peace.”
Another wrote: “Absolutely shocked and saddened to hear of Matthew’s sudden passing. Fond memories of him growing up and working with him and some laughs and chats we had.
My deepest sympathies. Thoughts and prayers are with Paul, Janet, Timothy and the family circle at this time.”
A third added: “Lots of fond memories growing with you Matty from primary school until time for uni. You will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers with the family.”
A private funeral will take place followed by burial at Kernan Cemetery.
The family have requested family flowers only. Donations if desired are requested to go to Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary and PIPS Suicide Prevention Charity. These donations can be made via card online at Joseph Poots Funeral Directors.
