Tributes have been paid following the passing of popular Portadown man Tony Kennoy.
Tony, who passed away on Sunday, September 29, was very well respected in the town, described by one person as “probably the most well-known man in Portadown“.
Among those paying tribute to Tony’s life was Upper Bann MLA Jonathan Buckley who posted on Facebook on Sunday morning.
“This morning, in the early hours, Portadown lost one of its legends, Tony,” he said.
“Tony was a great friend to my office for many years. He brought joy and laughter with him everywhere he went.
“Tony made no secret of the difficult start he himself had in life, yet he thrived on bringing happiness to every life he touched.
“I know many of you will also have fond memories of Tony and he will be sorely missed in our community.”
Perfect Blend Coffee House said: “We are extremely heartbroken to learn of the passing of our great friend Tony.
“He gave us so many happy and stressful memories over the years and we will miss him so much. Rest easy Our friend.”
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart said: “Very sad news about Tony’s passing. A character who certainly lit up a room. Although in recent times he had failing health he always had a spark for life and just loved people and a little bit of fun. My thoughts are with his friends and loved ones.”
Funeral arrangements to follow.
