Timpson to bring range of services to Portadown with plans for three retail ‘pods’ outside Asda

An application has been submitted to ABC Council

Three new retail ‘pods’ could be constructed outside the Asda store in Portadown.

An application for the facilities – outside the Bridge Street outlet – have been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.

The proposal has been submitted by McLagan Investments, whose address is given as Asda House in Leeds.

It is understood that the plan is for Timpson to join the site which already boasts the fuel service facilities and the Asda superstore itself.

Timpson specialises in providing key cutting and other services including dry cleaning, shoe repairs, watch repairs, engraving and photographic features, as well as phone and tablet repairs, among many others.

The company already has outlets nearby at the Tesco Extra store in Craigavon and Tesco Dungannon, as well as within Lisburn’s Bow Street Mall.

The application will now be considered and a decision expected within the next few months.
