State-of-the-art Portadown People’s Park to host first outdoor cinema event

Portadown’s People’s Park reopened after a £5.5 million facelift last October.

And now the state-of-the-art venue is to host its first ever outdoor cinema event.

The people of Armagh are no strangers to such open air cinemas, having hosted drive-in screenings at the Shambles Yard.

But now it is the turn of Portadown and its fantastic park to take centre stage.

The outdoor cinema is due to be held on Thursday, March 24.

And it will be up to the public to have their say on the movie.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has launched a poll on its Facebook page giving people the chance to cast their votes.

Four classics are on offer.

So far, Grease is out in front, followed by The Goonies, ET and Jurassic Park.

The poll will close this Friday, March 4, at 5pm.
