
A man was chased down a street and dropped items he had stolen from a shop in Portadown.
Caolan Francis McConnell (41), of Hill Street, in Lurgan, committed offences on May 7 this year.
He entered the prohibited back store of a shop and took two drills worth £110. He had previously been barred from the shop.
He also had taken clothing and Lego worth a total of £140 from other shops in Portadown that day and was in possession of cocaine.
On February 10 this year he committed five thefts at shops in Lisburn and stole almost £600 worth of goods including smart watches, headphones, beauty gift sets and perfume.
Between April 27-29 this year he took three hairdryers worth over £610 from Boots at Sprucefield and on April 29 he attempted to still drills worth £500 from B&Q at Sprucefield.
The defendant appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court via video link from prison.
He was given a nine months prison sentence suspended for one year.
