Resident extinguishes fire and escapes injury after petrol bomb thrown at property in Churchill Park

This follows on from a report by Armagh I just days ago which highlighted residents' mounting concerns surrounding increasing criminal and violent activity in the area

Police are appealing for information following a report of arson at a property in Portadown on Sunday August 31.

At approximately 11.45pm, it was reported that a petrol bomb had been thrown at the front of a house in the Churchill Park area, causing damage to the front door.

The resident was able to extinguish the fire and get out of the property uninjured.

An eye witness told Armagh I that police had been present in the estate all of last night and only left in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

This is being treated as arson and enquiries are ongoing.
