Portadown Town Hall was alive with music, energy and shared joy on Friday November 21, as The Big Sing made its vibrant debut — and it’s already being hailed as a resounding success.
Designed as the ultimate feel-good night out, the event invited people of all ages and abilities to “find their voice” and come together to sing iconic pop and rock anthems.
With no auditions, no experience required, and a welcoming atmosphere from the moment doors opened, the hall quickly transformed into a powerful mass choir of hundreds, all united in song.
The crowd was guided through harmonies, uplifting anthems, and full-throttle sing-alongs. Laughter, dancing, and sheer enthusiasm filled the room — an energy many attendees were still buzzing from long after the final note.
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One attendee called it “an absolute triumph…the atmosphere was electric… pure joy to see everyone ecstatic — singing their hearts out, dancing, laughing, and having the best time.”
Another said they “thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic evening… great song choices, great moves, and we were still singing on the way home.”
Others summed it up simply as “a lovely evening for people to get together and just sing.”
The event’s focus on community, connection, and shared experience shone through, delivering exactly what The Big Sing promised — a night where the audience became the choir and everyone left a little lighter, brighter, and more connected.
With such enthusiastic response, plans for future Big Sing events are already building excitement. If the first Big Sing was any indication, this new musical tradition is set to become a much-loved fixture in the local calendar.
